Today at Woodspring Bay there was a charity shoot in memory of Sam, Dr John’s grandson, raising money for Cots For Tots and Above & Beyond. Naturally the shit shooters are always happy to contribute to a worthy cause especially when there is some shooting involved, so me and Big Gay Al met up with Tony for some clay busting fun.
The main man Dr John sporting an exclusive pair of palm tree shooting glasses, the yellow lenses giving a superior optical enhancement under low light conditions.
Plenty of raffle prizes donated by shooters, never did find out how many cartridges in that jar, reckon there weren’t 158
Time for a little BS between rounds
The twiddle brothers on stand one twiddling
Out on the ground
Terry making light work of stand one, must have been all that twiddling
Big Gay Al looking rather pleased with himself
Tony breaking clays with an intense stare
And I guess that just leaves today’s backed up sewer
Yep it’s me again, seem to have hit into a spell of shit shooting
Today the annual charity shoot at Chideock near Lyme Regis in aid of the air ambulance was held and me, Big Gay Al and Joss (Japanese Toilet Boy) took the hour and something drive to have some claybusting fun all in a good cause.
Upon arrive my old Town Car promptly got stuck in some soft mud in the gateway, we weren’t the first and were not the last to fall victim to that soft spot, after being unceremoniously pushed to one side it was time to check in.
It was a great 50 bird layout with a good mix of easy and not so easy clays including one little teaser that looked so easy but no one was hitting.
So what were the scores
After two rounds I came out on top with 82/100
Japanese Toilet Boy came in second with 69/100
That only leaves Big Gay Al today’s steaming pile coming in last for the second week running with a miserable 67/100
For a while now Big Gay Al has had an urge to try out a flush and as luck would have it at West Littleton’s annual charity clay shoot there was a 40 bird two man flush
So Big Gay Al and myself took a quick 35 minute drive north and met Tony at The Toby Carvery Almondsbury for a £3.99 all you can eat breakfast before doing another 20 minutes east to West Littleton near bath, where we met Popular Jim, Dave and Little John.
It was a glorious day for shooting, light fluffy clouds filled the blue skies with a light breeze keeping things cool
I know you are all gagging to know the scores so without further ado here they are…
Little John was high gun with a stunning 84/100
Big Gay Al takes the silver medal with a respectable 79/100
Popular Jim doing the soft shoe shuffle took the last place on the podium with 78/100
And that just leaves the also rans.
In joint fourth was Dereck and Tony on 77/100
And finally today’s shit filled wellie
Dave proving once again farmers can’t shoot with 67/100
